Wolsingham Bowling Club

Wolsingham Bowling Club play 2 friendlies at the end of every season (where possible), against Cockton Hill Bowling Club (since 2011) and Lanchester Bowling Club (since 2009). The matches alternate, home and away annually and are traditionally followed by an extensive and very enjoyable buffet tea, where members can mingle and discuss how the results have gone, and share some friendly ‘banter’ and memories.

SADLY THE ANNUAL FRIENDLIES HAVE HAD TO BE CALLED OFF THIS YEAR AS THERE WERE INSUFFICIENT NUMBERS TO BE ABLE TO FIELD TEAMS, AND WE HOPE TO RESUME THESE MATCHES IN 2026.

The Cockton Hill matches are played for the John Straughan Trophy (John was a respected member of both clubs for many years), and the Lanchester matches are played for the ‘Friendship’ Trophy.
